Hyundai Engine & Machinery: Order for Supply of 5 Units of Diesel generating sets to Tonkolili, Sierra Leone
In May 2023, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery (“HHI-EMD”) contracted with SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering, a Chinese EPC company, for the supply of Five (5) units of diesel engine generating sets (HiMSEN 18H32/40V).
These new gensets, which will be delivered in April 2024, will supply stable electricity to Tonkolili Iron Ore Mining in Sierra Leone.
As of today, including the Five (5) units to be supplied to Sierra Leone, HHI-EMD has a supply record of Fifty-eight (58) units of engine generating sets amounting to 143MW to Nine (9) countries including Guinea, Malawi, Namibia, Philippines, Argentina etc.
HHI-EMD expects to expand the supply of engine generating sets to other mining site which do not have access to national grid.
